Trout Tails - June 2, 2014

 With warmer weather finally arriving, I've been out several times a week and haven't really had a chance to update.  May was a busy month, and June is looking good!  Brad and I floated Big Pine the first week of May, but the majority of the month has been spent chasing wild fish in the mountains.  This is the time of year I like to channel my inner hermit and what I like to call "blue-lining", picking a stream off a map that looks fairly inaccessible, that looks like it would hold fish, and disappearing into the mountains searching for wild fish with zero human contact.  Steep hikes, rattlesnakes, and challenging casting on a lot of the streams I fish, usually make this an easy task to accomplish.  Also, while I enjoy catching monster trout as much as the next guy, there is something about a 10 inch brookie on a zero weight rod that is hard to beat, plus you never know what you are going to see!  I'll never understand why some guys just don't get it, but I'm ok with that ;)
